As someone who spent over 15 years with Beachbody, I've navigated numerous highs and lows—transformations not just in body, but in the business model of fitness itself. Recent changes saw Beachbody transition from a multi-level marketing structure to a single-level affiliate marketing structure. What does this mean for consumers and coaches like me?
A Personal Shift in Perspective
Years ago, I embraced Beachbody workouts, finding solace and empowerment through programs like Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire. When coaching opportunities opened in Canada, I was eager to inspire others with the same passion. However, climbing the ranks and recruiting others didn't align with my values, causing a gradual shift away from the standard network marketing approach.
Adapting with Changing Times
As gyms closed during the pandemic, the accessibility of online workouts remained a reassuring constant. Yet, the changing landscape of Beachbody made me reconsider my association with the brand. The new affiliate structure suggests a fresh start, yet it also feels like an opportunity to distance myself from past constraints.
Future Considerations
Reflecting on Beachbody's evolution prompts a broader question: Is it time to let go? The chapter with Beachbody has been long and eventful, impacting my personal and professional life. Now, the decision lies in whether to embrace new opportunities without the affiliations of the past.
